About Our Principal...Dr. Shavonnda Teagle
Principal

Dr. Teagle began her career in 2012, as a 5th grade teacher in Fulton County Schools. While in Fulton County Schools, she served in multiple leadership roles before returning to Coweta County as a teacher. She taught at Thomas Crossroads Elementary School where she served in many roles and on many committees such as Grade level Chairperson, School-Based Leadership Team, Beta Club Vice President, ELA Curriculum Chairperson, to name a few. In 2016, she became The Newnan Times-Herald’s Teacher in Focus.  She also became Teacher of the Year during the 2018-2019 school year.

After leaving Thomas Crossroads, Dr.Teagle joined the Poplar Road family as the Instructional Coach in 2019. In this role, she coached and mentored teachers, provided curriculum and instructional training and materials, and facilitated professional development. In 2020, she was named the Assistant Principal of Eastside Elementary School. While there she also held several titles such as 504 Coordinator, Testing Coordinator, MTSS Coordinator, and Literacy Lead. Under she and her principal’s leadership, Eastside Elementary School became the only school in the state of Georgia to be named Literacy Leader for Exceptional Achievement and Growth.

The highest degree she currently holds is a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Throughout her career, she has been an advocate for improving and promoting student-centered environments for students. She has been a champion for not only providing good quality instruction that plays on students’ strength while developing their weaknesses, but also supporting students’ social-emotional needs as well. 

She has returned home where her leadership career started. With her she brings her husband, who’s an educator in Coweta County, two adult children that are in college, and one child that currently attends Coweta County Schools.
